Poem – ” Why A Fly “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog”

WHY A FLY?

I pass the door everyday

open

close

open

close-

4 days gone by-

there it sits,

resting next to the screen door

a fly…

wings spread calmy

even when the days are exceedingly balmy—

finally, I touch it’s wing -not a twitch

still it sticks to the door-

my little mummified fly I now call… … …  Mitch!

why a fly?

Poem – ” Walking “

 ” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

WALKING

He’s waiting,

He’s looking,

He’s watching,

He’s finding,

the light within himself

that secret primordial elf.

my life in flux.

Poem – “Spheres”

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

SPHERES

The spheres shifted-

it was about a gift,

karmic debt?

angelic request?

wrapped in earthly love

but at the core a glove

of enlightenment

of opening

from the universe to you

I just carried it-

buried it… … …

I was the messenger

talking the only language you understood-

I leave the shroud of earthly love

on the ground behind me,

by finding a way

I discovered so much more

more  than you who hold tight to everything, will ever know-

my spheres have shifted

I have been lifted.

 Note, From Wikipedia

Shroud usually refers to an item, such as a cloth, that covers or protects some other object. The term is most often used in reference to burial sheets, winding-cloths or winding-sheets, such as the famous Shroud of Turin or Tachrichim (burial shrouds) that Jews are dressed in for burial. Traditionally, burial shrouds are made of white cotton, wool or linen, though any material can be used so long as it is made of natural fibre.

Flash Poem # 8 ” The Wait “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

THE WAIT

Alright I’ll wait

but don’t try to slow down my gait

If you come through

We’ll dance until we turn blue

there is a piece of me that will never say die

never tell a lie

about this thing

this feeling

this rose-colored dream

so I accept the fear

I’ll just have another beer

and wait…

Flash Poem # 7 ” Give Me A Clue “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

GIVE ME A CLUE

I feel your aura breeze over me

mine, ebbs between your toes, up your back

please don’t give me any flack

are the cards stacked?

The dice loaded?

Will you be true?

I haven’t a clue.

Flash Poem # 6 ” Cardboard Relic “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

CARDBOARD RELIC

They, want you to remain

the same

the crowds the hoards

but they don’t know you were never a cardboard relic

for them to have and hold in collections galore –

something is still in store,

you are flesh and blood

if I might say, quite a stud…

so break out, break free —

I watch with glee!

Flash Poem #4 ” A Cup Of Tea “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

A CUP OF TEA?

Dreams,

with bloated seams

gleam under

the weight of a golden team –

left to steam…and steam, and rise above my tea cup.

A CUP OF TEA.

Dreams –

Flash Poem # 3 ” A Grand Old Heart “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

A GRAND OLD HEART

It was a grand old heart

It lasted through several yellow moons

It was a grand old heart

it played many tunes

it was a grand old heart –

Now it lies silent, veins and metal bolts strewn,

It was a grand old heart, from the start

… … … never unfurled.

With thanks to,

You’re a Grand Old Flag

by George M. Cohan

You’re a grand old flag,
You’re a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You’re the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev’ry heart beats true
‘neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there’s never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

You’re a grand old flag,
You’re a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You’re the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev’ry heart beats true
‘neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there’s never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

LINGERS

Hope Lingers

a smokey haze

clinging to my fingertips –

light forms as a heart

snaps apart

and I can see…

Poem – ” Return Flight “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

RETURN FLIGHT

On our return flight

we expected trouble

there was a storm

On our return flight

we almost made it

almost, were reborn

10- and 2 we tried

to unwrap the blue

instead, caught in the stew

and glue

of

convoluted words misconstrued,

Overtures ignored

indeed, requests for more???

signposts followed with someone else

always, someone else

He lives a shadow life pretending one thing

 is another –

So I am left snapping together the pieces of the puzzle on the walkways of Philadelphia.

On our return flight

we expected trouble

there was a storm.

(the second time was a little easier… … … … … … )

Musical Artifact / Poem Duo

Song NAKED EYE

Band  LUSCIOUS JACKSON

It’s not a choice I tried to make
It’s not a thought I couldn’t take
Something told me it was time
To give you yours and leave me mine

My vision started to be clear
I watched the sunlight coming near
I knew the day I knew the night
I knew I could regain my sight

And it feels alright
And it feels alright

With my naked eye
I saw all the falling rain
Coming down on me
With my naked eye
I saw all if I said it all, I could see

Last night I came into your home
To break some ice and throw some stones
I asked if we could be alone
I had some troubles of my own

Knew I had to say goodbye
To all the old things held inside
If I let the moment fly
I knew they’d all be magnified
And it feels alright
And it feels alright

With my naked eye
I saw all the falling rain
Coming down on me
With my naked eye
I saw all if I said it all
I could see

With my naked eye
I saw all the falling rain
Coming down on me
With my naked eye
I saw all if I said it all
I could see

Came around after dark
You are nothing but a lark
Know I snuck in like a narc
I knew I had to leave my mark

Wanted to be satisfied
I tried to be dignified
Wearing nothing is divine
Naked is a state of mind
And it feels alright
And it feels alright

With my naked eye
I saw all the falling rain
Coming down on me
With my naked eye
I saw all if I said it all
I could see

With my naked eye
I saw all the falling rain
Coming down on me
With my naked eye
I saw all if I said it all
I could see

It feels alright, it feels alright
It feels alright, it feels alright
It feels alright, it feels alright
It feels alright, it feels alright
It feels alright

POEM

A disgraceful sort of fella
He was a disgraceful sort of fella
egged people on

stood back with a baton

asked them to wait

while he ate

never lifted a finger…

walked away

because he had feet of clay –

and so it ends as it began

while he spends time getting a tan…

He was a disgraceful sort of fella.

Poetry Slam On A Rainy Day – Quatro / “Horses Trapped In A Castle”

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

QUATRO

HORSES TRAPPED IN A CASTLE

Walled gardens

Walled hearts

Walled lives

my horses now run free

their hooves pound gently across my chest

you never should have tried

to rein them in-

pretending to be kin,

stolen from under the mulberry tree.

This poetry slam is dedicated to J. who helps me and others through these days.

Poetry Slam On A Rainy Day – Tres / “Some Laugh, Some Cry”

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

TRES

SOME LAUGH SOME CRY

I go to the places where no one else will go

I look, I watch

I shout warnings from above

while releasing doves –

when I return

some laugh

some cry

most, spit in my eye

but-

somethings coming…Are you ready?
