Somewhere in America……….

She took her arrows and bow and walked outside. Sat down and started writing in her notebook knowing it would draw them in.

     Sure enough the sonic rumble could be heard in the distance.  The sound was something like a high-pitched weed wacker in the sky. Just as the drone passed 15 feet above her head she quickly raised her bow aiming for the seam.  It fell to the ground.

     She put her bow down and walked over.  It was jumping a bit. She placed a rose-colored boot on the tail.  All you could hear were jumbled voices as a camera lense whirred.  People gathered around and started to clap and laugh bending down to look.


Somewhere across town…..

He walked out his front door.  The grass was hot. It felt like the clouds were wet blankets hanging in the air.  His spitfire was parked in the street. He looked into the sky then hopped into the snug two-seater convertible stick.  He opened up the throttle as he hit the highway.  That’ s when the winds started.

     ‘ If not for my 6 foot 2 frame I would lift of this concrete highway,’  he thought. The sonic screams started in the east, he could feel them crawl up his back.

     He shifted to 7th gear and let the car loose.  The car could do 110, if it felt like it.  He started laughing. Danger always had that effect on him. Two drones flanked his shoulders.  They liked to criss-cross over his head – Why? just, because they could..  He waited for the right moment and did a Rockford, slamming on the brakes while spinning the steering wheel.  The spitfire twirled into a complete reverse.  The two drones over head slammed into one another bursting debris over the empty highway.   He did not look back as he pressed the pedal, to the metal..


Meanwhile over the bridge…..

     Crowds sat outside the justice building so thick the steps disappeared their placards thrown into a sloppy pile as they waited.   Inside the lawyer was finishing up his brief….

“The question is, are we going to allow the bulk collection of American citizen’s activities in their own back yards from the sky above through the use of drones or, will we be faithful to the constitution and the fourth amendment.”

He tightened his ponytail sat down and closed his briefcase.

A writer sits by the river with a sliver of an idea and writes about the mighty and the honest about the evils of the time and the kind people who came before, that fought the war for truth peace justice and the american way.  Their almost gone now but the lesson of their fierce love of freedom rings across this land….. remember why they fought ww2 ….for freedom from tyrants (from within and without) the same reason Washington and his barefooted soldiers walked in the snow to Trenton N.J. —for peace, to have the ability to pursue happiness.

FORECLOSURE Aid, The Answer To Reversing The US Economic Downturn (and maybe the world’s downturn as well)

The problem across the US is lack of revenue. 

Foreclosures are still happening at a unprecented rate. ( families are thrown out, houses sit and decay( I am judging this by my own neighborhood and what I have read), who benefits? short-term,the large investment banks through foreclosure fees)

Foreclosures are at the heart of this financial crisis because HOMES were used by the large investment banks as the key component of the so-called toxic derivatives  (risky) ponzi-like investments that they sold nationwide to investors.

What we are seeing now is the attempted cleanup of those investments  by banks by foreclosing and collecting the foreclosure fees RATHER than readjusting  the sub- prime loans (mortgages)

Why are the banks who offered these credit card loans  ( high interest loans, loaded with fees) not readjusting the loans as President Obama hoped, by lending them money from the government with low-interest rates ?, ( his mistake was not to make the loan of the money dependent on the use of the money i.e. only to readjust mortgages)

because they can make  more money collecting foreclosure fees. ( as one bank official said)



This is not my idea I heard it on NPR (National Public Radio) long before the general public knew of the crisis but experts saw the impending problem and were offering solutions.

It was an official from the Reagan administration and the Carter administration.  They said- offer a 4% mortgage readjustment across the board, to anyone that has a mortgage, those caught up in the crisis and those who were not.

VIOLA it is the answer, fair play- a democratic solution! banks were helped ( bailout)

now citizens should be helped and the resulting revenue will easily turn the economy around,


because communities would stabilize, citizens would stay in homes and the flow of money from those homes  would be going into every nook and cranny of this great land.

The only party that would take a small hit are the banks that created the crisis, –long-term the banks will prosper as would the communities themselves.


All citizens who have been foreclosed upon or are in the process of being foreclosed  or are in the pipeline of subprime loans to be foreclosed upon, need to organize into a lobby

yes, a lobby which is a group that forms to discuss a single issue with congress, and lobby to have all citizens be offered a 4% mortgage rate.

Think of all the jobs that will be created,  paid for by the banks ! One expert early on said there are not millions of these bundled mortgage loans not billions but trillions.

So it can be done, all we need is one person to start this process ?

Money borrowed by banks at 0 percent from Govt

but banks won’t lend unless 29.99 percent

you are a risk

we need to protect ourselves—

we  alone, are allowed to gamble

take risks with depositer’s money ….. bundle dreams and sell them down the river

make money off fees

short-term payoff,

long-term— — —

empty houses

2 per street

people on the street, their homes sitting empty

communities crumbling

no residents

no revenue

banks won’t re-adjust

even if the government says ” It is a must, that’s why we bailed you out gave you money to lend, gave you money at zip interest! “

we’re not interested they say

the fees are our horn of plenty, our horn of plenty

please lend us more money (Mr. Government, at zip percent )

We will remember you at x-mas time! We promise and big banks always remember…..


My neighborhood once solidly middle class now has on avg. 2 empty houses per street, this in a community where you rarely saw a for sale sign for fifty years. And houses are still falling homeowners are still being thrown out onto the street while their homes are empty and begin to decay. 

This is happening across the United States Of America.

Tomorrow the SOLUTION, it is so easy it makes me cry!

what you hear is the squishing of

the middle class


investment bank policies


trust us

we will do all we can—

so many on the street

finally more on the street, than  behind closed doors



now we push back





We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.


And you can’t do that if you have no place to live




the sound you hear is,

the squishing of the middle class.

Dr Scholls UFOS And The Mysteries Of Life

A pair of ” Classic”  forest green suede schools arrived at my front door.   For 15 years my formative years I wore Dr Scholls sandals no socks summer, 3 pairs socks winter and if need be… a pair of converse sneakers graced my feet occasionally.

Around 28 the wooden platform shoes became harder and harder to find so I grudgingly gave them up.


Looking down at the box my now calloused feet jumped, I grabbed the box throwing packing here and there until a pair of wooded beauties lay before my eyes.

I slipped my foot into the shoe not unlike cinderella before the ball then the other and almost immediately I began to spin, twirl on my heels and click that wood together —it was as if my feet were laden with waiting memories.

The spin reminded me of  slipping on the wooden slats  of a bench 11 at night trying to get a better look at my first and only UFO, as I craned to see, it swooshed to just above my head and stepping back my wood scholl get caught in one of the slats…

The swirl reminded me of twirling around after hearing Bruce Springsteen- yes that B. Springsteen yell ” Get them out of here!”  All you could hear were my scholls’ clomping erratically down the hall, he was quite volatile in those days pressure of BTR I suppose… Me and my two springsteen seeking  cohorts vamoosed our way around the college until we managed to get to the Gym hoping that we wouldn’t be asked for tickets —  we weren’!

And finally the click. Scholls’ wooden bases naturally hit each other so you could make a heil hitler click at a moments notice!   I was reminded that whenever I and my friends got ourselves into a fix I would click the heels together and say ” There’s no plaace like home there’s no place like home” ala ruby shoes of Judy Garland,

I could bore you with more but I  have to get out of the house and see what adventures I can scurry up! 

Do something today that you did long ago and try to remember who you were and all that youthful exhuberance, it still comes in handy as the sun fades for our generation.


 Try to leave the best parts of you behind when you go.  ( we are all going to go, some sooner some later so face it!)

The July Fourth Definitive Imbibement

It was cold it was dark, the troops had been at it for years this was their last chance to surprise the hessions  and turn the tide of the war, this is a little known secret -but on that voyage across the Delaware, as every tuber of the Delaware knows is no easy feat —anyway, on that crisp night into morning voyage George, Washington that is, had pressed secretly in his vest a little imbibement to keep his back straight as his crew manuevered between the chunks of ice

 and I have his secret recipe in my posession… … … 

madeira wine ( or any inexpensive red)

blueberries  fresh squeezed, ( or rasberry liquer)

ice cold delaware water ( or 7 up)


and chill by dragging aside a wooden row boat in the dead of winter (or pour over chipped ice)

optional sprig of  fresh lavender swished in glass


drink until you reach Trenton…



Remember freedom doesn’t come easy but once you achieve it you are home free!!!

On one occasion, Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail, of the great quantities of Madeira he consumed while a Massachusetts delegate to the Continental Congress. Chief Justice John Marshall was also known to appreciate Madeira, as well as his cohorts on the U.S. Supreme Court. A bottle of Madeira was also used by visiting Captain James Server to christen USS Constitution in 1797.

 There are times when you have to obey a call which is the highest of all, i.e., the voice of conscience even though such obedience may cost many a bitter tear, and even more, separation from friends, from family, from the state to which you may belong, from all that you have held as dear as life itself. For this obedience is the law of our being.

UN Meeting To Discuss Attack of Civilians On Aid Convoy Headed To Gaza

The technique of collective punishment such as the blockade on Gaza that the Israeli government is currently using against the citizenry of Gaza, serves no purpose other than to exacerbate the crisis.

Collective punishment is the punishment of a group of people as a result of the behavior of one or more other individuals or groups. The punished group may often have no direct association with the other individuals or groups, or direct control over their actions. In times of war and armed conflict, collective punishment has resulted in atrocities, and is a violation of the laws of war and the Geneva Conventions. Historically, occupying powers have used collective punishment to retaliate against and deter attacks on their forces by resistance movements (e.g. destroying whole towns and villages where attacks have taken place).  FROM WIKIPEDIA

The United Nations Security Council is holding an emergency meeting to discuss an Israeli naval raid on an aid flotilla.At least nine passengers were killed, and dozens of others were injured, when Israeli commandos stormed ships bringing aid to the Gaza Strip early Monday.  The flotilla, led by a Turkish ship, was in international waters about 60 kilometers off the coast of Israel when it was intercepted.Israel says seven soldiers also were wounded in the violence.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed regret at the loss of life, but said Israeli troops acted in self-defense.

Israeli Government Spokesman Mark Regev says the activists had weapons and were prepared to attack the commandos when they came aboard the ship.  But representatives of the Free Gaza Movement, which organized the flotilla, described the raid as an attack on civilians, saying the activists did not have violent intentions.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the raid an act of “state terrorism.”  Turkey has recalled its ambassador from Israel and canceled three planned military exercises with Israel to protest the incident.  

The aid ships, carrying more than 600 pro-Palestinian activists and 10,000 tons of supplies, left for Gaza Sunday and defied a radio warning from the Israeli navy not to approach the region.

Organizers from the Free Gaza Movement and a Turkish human rights group said the convoy was carrying medical supplies as well as cement and other building materials, which Israel has banned from entering Gaza because of what it says are security concerns.

Israel has taken the ships to a nearby port to begin deportation procedures for the activists.  It says that after inspection, the humanitarian aid will be transferred to Gaza by land.

Poem – “Spheres”

The spheres shifted-

it was about a gift,

karmic debt?

angelic request?

wrapped in earthly love

but at the core a glove

of enlightenment

of opening

from the universe to you

I just carried it-

buried it… … …

I was the messenger

talking the only language you understood-

I leave the shroud of earthly love

on the ground behind me,

by finding a way

I discovered so much more

more  than you who hold tight to everything, will ever know-


my spheres have shifted

I have been lifted.

do I need to shout?

walk up

and knock on that door

or life will become a snore

so walk walk walk up-

before our time is up up up.


no pressure

just a friendly gesture…
