Hey-days

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog”

The 1950’s was a hey-dey for singers!  While reading further in my Sinatra book I came upon a single night’s escapade that included a party with Sammy Davis then the party moves to a small club where Mel Torme is entertaining and Judy Garland and Frank  go with others to see him…

Back in the day that was normal  —take a peek back in time and pick up some copies of the true VOICES –singers in 50 60 70’s there was

an abundance of original talent….

My theory is the more freedom you have, the more prosperity you have naturally produces an atmosphere where the cream of the crop in all fields is produced through osmosis and then rises up mixing with hey-days here and there.

Who would I rather have my child be influenced by,  an imaginary cartoon illusion? or Frank Sammy Judy and Mel!!

Maybe you are a Frank or Judy–look inside, see what talent is waiting to discovered by you and give it to the world

Pokemon will always be there–take a look at the real world!!

Everyone becomes homoginized by these shows that make music a competition like sports as if there is one specific formula for art-

Thought Of The Day And Song Of The Day

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

” You want to do what you can while you are here on this earth, otherwise tthe alternative is to go shopping. “

Song of the day sung by Frank Sinatra !

Nice n’ Esay Does It

Writer(s): Spence/Keith/Bergman

Let’s take it nice and easy
It’s gonna be so easy
For us to fall in love

Hey baby what’s your hurry
Relax and don’t you worry
We’re gonna fall in love

We’re on the road to romance – that’s safe to say
But let’s make all the stops along the way

The problem now of course is
To simply hold your horses
To rush would be a crime
‘Cause nice and easy does it every time

The Imbibment For the Fourth I just discovered it! Like a lost Egyptian Pyramid…

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

Here it is-

3 scoops of mint choc chip ice cream

Douse with tequila (pour over)

take mint leaves pulverize ( throw on top)

dust with cocoa powder

place straw in with spoon and have at it

yumskie!

ooolala!!

Then listen to Frank, Sinatra of course, Summer Winds

Songwriters: MERCER, JOHNNY / MAYER, HENRY / BRADTKE, HANS
The summer wind, came blowin in – from across the sea
It lingered there, so warm and fair – to walk with me
All summer long, we sang a song – and strolled on golden sand
Two sweethearts, and the summer windLike painted kites, those days and nights – went flyin by
The world was new, beneath a blue – umbrella sky
Then softer than, a piper man – one day it called to you
And I lost you, to the summer windThe autumn wind, and the winter wind – have come and gone
And still the days, those lonely days – go on and on
And guess who sighs his lullabies – through nights that never end
My fickle friend, the summer wind

then The Lady Is A Tramp,

She gets too hungry for dinner at eight She like the theatre and never comes late She never bothers with people she hates That’s why the lady is a tramp
Doens’t like crapgames with barons or earls Won’t go to Harlem in ermine and pearls Won’t dish the dirt with the rest of the girls Tha’ts why the lady is a tramp
She like the free fresh wind in her hain, life without care She’s broke and it’s oke Hates California, it’s cold and it’s damp That’s why the lady is a tramp
She gets too hungry to wait for dinner at eight She loves the theatre, but never comes late She’d never bother with people she’d hate That’s why the lady is a tramp
She’ll have no crapgames with sharpies and frogs And she won’t go to Harlem in Lincolns or Fords And she won’t dish the dirt with the rest of the broads That’s why the lady is a tramp
She loves the free fresh wind in her hair Life without care. She’s broke but it’s oke Hates California, it’s so cold and so damp That’s why the lady. that’s why the lady That’s why the lady is a tramp

Now I am off to watch The Mystery of the Egyptian Tomb a Poirot mystery by Agatha Christie
