Why Fellow Citizens Across The Globe Love America And Our Dream

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

Because….. America the country, the dream, is based on these intrinsic and simple principles of-

the pursuit of freedoms and happiness ….

The pursuit of the greater good,

What other attempt at nation building has those words in their Declaration Of Independence, their declaration of intention for the path of their country?   None !

But who are the friends Of the USA? Why every country in the world, as we wish them the same,

So let us listen to the peoples of every country, what they have to say, what they look like.  Each week PGM will cover a different country and their history with the USA

PEACE

Tomorrow RUSSIA!

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://www.wikipedia.org

“Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence.[1] The phrase gives examples of the various “unalienable rights” which the Declaration says all human beings have been given by their Creator and for the protection of which they institute governments.

Big Government / Mini Government, What Does It All Mean?

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

Government isn’t to be feared

Government is your neighbor down the street

Government is JOBS!

A too large government is not the problem.

A government that is not working is.

To fix a government that is not working, you…..

need to examine where the problem is and try ro resolve it through measured and concerted effort.

During election time you can vote out your representative whether they be a congress person senator or president.

This takes effort on the part of citizens to listen to each candidate and I say listen, because a lot of second-hand or third party messages are not to be trusted.

Listen directly to the candidates about their PLANS, decide which you think would resolve, what you consider the biggest issue facing the country.

Never listen to slogans such as,

Big Government Is The Problem“, it says nothing,

What are the details, list the steps that you would take, why is it a good idea?

So forget slogans ask for step by step plans and decide.

Good Luck!

The Andy Griffith Show Was A Replication Of The American Dream Come True

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

I will miss not having Andy Griffith in this world,  his characters Andy Tayler, the sheriff in Mayberry and  Ben Matlock  defense lawyer, crystalized to me what any type of law enforcement or security person should exemplify – if every homeland security officer, air port security person, every police officer of any rank would be required as a matter of training to watch all episodes of these two series they would be tempered with a feeling of respect for the general population and a skill packet on how to deal with the varieties of humanity.

Great shows

great characters

great writing

great actor and American.

Thanks Andy!

What a guy!

” How Long Will We Stand Aside And Watch Them Kill Our Profits ? “These Songs Of Freedom, BOB MARLEY

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

“One Love, One heart , I’m pleading to mankind. ”  (B. Marley)

I shall not pass this way again

Stephen Grellet

I expect to pass through this world but once;

any good thing therefore that I can do, or any

kindness that I can show to any fellow-creature,

let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it,

for I shall not pass this way again.

To be or not to be– that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep
No more – and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to – ‘tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep
To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there’s the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There’s the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
Th’ oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law’s delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of th’ unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered country from whose bourn
No traveler returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o’er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.—Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remembered.[1]

Poem – ” C.G. “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

C.G.

Dozens of workers dead

Is the money still coming in?

A mine collapses

Is the money still coming in?

oil explodes across the sea

Is the money still coming in?

people thrown out into the street

Is the money still coming in?

in a lifeboat for 12 hours, bleeding, hurt

Is the money still coming in?

Free markets – no regulation

the politicians scream…

Is the money still coming in?

Is the money still coming in?

corporate greed

a nation feeds

on its citizenry

corporate greed.

                                      ( “Regulators Warnings Weren’t Acted Upon”   May 8, 2010)

Quote –  ” It has to be that way,” said David Doig, the chief executive of an industry-owned non profit organization in Britain, the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization.  ” You need to divorce operations monitoring from the integrity monitoring, because operations will always be the one driving behavior.  They’re motivated by the need to keep things going, and the finances rolling.”

On A Lighter Note- Did you Hear About The Pant-less Bicycle Race This Weekend In Philadephia!

” A Pale GreenMermaid Blog “

Now I”m not saying I’m going ,

and I’m not saying it is even possible,

(Have you ever rode a ten speed! I have and well…Kudos to those who can do it – Alfresco as it were-!)  But – you can always depend on Philadelphia the city of Brotherly love, cheese steaks with competing stands, Benjamin Franklin, a gentleman who spent his free time standing in thunder storms flying a kite with a key attached searching for that elusive bolt of lightening, the city where Marcel Duchamp (Artist) deemed it proper to leave his life’s work (check out Philadelphia Museum of Art)… stepping up to the plate of life.

Perhaps it is the residue rebellious nature of the descendents who waved the flag ” Don’t Tread on Me ” during pre- revolutionary days,  ( I myself have some of that exploratory /you and who else? attitude running around inside of me from being a  relative of Daniel Boone)  that sparks declarations/ movements and the like.

Whatever, something is always breaking loose in Philly and people work to make things better never forgetting to  add that quirky fun funky element  that makes life an unexpected source of serious sassy serendipity!

Oh by the way, that naked bike race is to promote less fuel consumption and has taken place worldwide in over 70 cities!  This Sunday in Philly.

Have a sassy Friday!
