Poem – ” Buddah “

” A Pale Green Mermaid Blog “

BUDDAH

Buddah

Buddah

” How does your garden grow? “

there you sit

staring at me

from my garden door

you watch me

you understand

your skin is stone

still I feel your spirit

you watch

as the phases move over me

night to day, day to night

don’t worry you whisper

time walks slowly

yet passes on-

like water under the willow tree

Buddah, Buddah – skin of stone.

“Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary” is a popular English nursery rhyme. The rhyme has been seen as having religious and historical significance, but its origins and meaning are disputed.

 Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and
cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.[1]
