Why I Love Dollar Stores, Secrets Of A Frugal Shopper

I know what you are saying to yourself  now,

 ”I wouldn’t dare step into an emporium of that ilk!”…well If you must … wear dark glasses and a large brimmed hat, because there are bargains to be found for both fat cats and skinny cats alike.   In these days of crashing IRA accounts and disappearing Maddoff funds we all must think about tightening our Louis Vitton paisley satin sashes at some point, or here comes the poor house.

Well the heyday of the dollar stores is over, that was back during the Clinton years of prosperity for all!  There was so much overflow that the major chains just wanted to get rid of last years stock and some of it wound up at my local dollar store, a wool sweater from the limited …one dollar…purple and black Flannel shirt…one dollar…heavy suede gloves…one dollar. (I’m talking quality)

Now let’s talk food, I am always amazed (when I set foot into a regular food market) at the prices ! It is no wonder people find it hard to make ends meet.  

But at the dollar store…

You can get a bag of apples or potatoes for, that’s right, one dollar – Twizzlers 2 lb bag…one dollar…pumpkin pie… one dollar…Spaghetti sauce, pasta (two for a dollar – high grade semolina), Brazilian coffee in a brick, sunglasses (where did you get that pair of sunglasses-Dollar store!) the list is endless. 

So if you are feeling a little economically under the weather, grab a twenty and feel like a millionaire – at the dollar store!
