Are the house republicans living in a democracy? or do they think , they are still living under a dictatorship? It is incredulous that not even one republican house representative voted for the new president’s bill , all members of the house voted against the stimulus plan.
George Bush is gone the reprisals and punishments for voting against the party line should be gone as well – never to return to a true blue democracy, where all think for themselves and act for the best of their constituents and the country as a whole.
They offer few solution other than, we need smaller government, no as Obama said we need a smarter government that meets the needs of the people.
They say bail outs are no good , see how the latest recipients wasted and exploited the money,
no the problem was, who it was given to, big investment banks when it should have been given to the smaller banks that only loan to customers
and the money was given with no restrictions or rules of oversight by congress, including one that would require the recipient to return the funds, if after a set time they had not used the money for the agreed upon purpose.
Representative Barney Frank proposed a bill to require additional restrictions for the release of the next installment of money.
The house republicans offer criticisms, complaints and retread post – Obama ideas like tax cuts and smaller government.
These are slogans not solutions.
So think about it ,and write your congress person with your views as this bill heads to the senate. Try to create some peace in our political system, choose commonsense over slogans.
